How Liquidation Shop Australia collects, uses and stores personal information, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- Order details. Name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and the contents of your order.
- Enquiries. Anything you send us by email or through a form on this site.
- Account details. If you create an account, your username and password. Passwords are stored hashed, not in readable form.
- Technical data. IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and referring site, collected through server logs and cookies.
We do not store your full card number. Payment details are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout.
Why we collect it
To take and fulfil your order, book and track freight, answer your enquiries, handle returns and freight claims, meet our tax and record keeping obligations, and protect the site against fraud and abuse. If you have opted in, we also use your email address to send you stock updates, and you can withdraw that at any time.
Who we share it with
- Freight carriers, who need your name, address and phone number to deliver and to contact you about access.
- Payment providers, who process your payment directly.
- Our hosting and email providers, who store the data on our behalf.
- Government agencies or law enforcement, where we are legally required to disclose.
We do not sell your personal information.
Overseas storage
Some of the services we use store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies
This site uses cookies to keep your cart and session working, to remember preferences, and to measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but the cart and checkout will not function correctly without the essential ones.
How long we keep it
Order and transaction records are kept for at least seven years, as required for Australian tax and business record keeping. Enquiries and marketing contacts are kept only while they are relevant, or until you ask us to delete them.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection and access to order data is restricted to people who need it. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will tell you if a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, and opt out of marketing at any time. Email info@liquidationshopaustralia.com and we will respond within a reasonable period.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
We may update this policy as the business or the law changes. The current version is always the one published on this page.
